Erik Lichtenberger
Medical Director, Cleveland Clinic Akron General Wound Center
I have been practicing at Akron General Medical Center as medical director of the wound center since October 2017. Originally trained as a general surgeon, I have been in practice since 1990. My surgical training was done at Wright State University in Dayton Ohio, followed by 4 years of active duty service with United States Air Force at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden Utah. I then joined Kaiser Permanente in Akron Ohio and was a general surgeon until 2016. I started my wound care career at that time and was originally employed by Vohra Wound Physicians, providing wound care to nursing home patients. I then transitioned to the outpatient wound center at Akron General, providing advanced wound care and hyperbaric oxygen to Northeast Ohio.
