This course is designed to provide certification for healthcare providers currently working or wanting to work in hyperbaric medicine and advanced wound care. This course is an introduction to the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in clinical practice. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding specific to your discipline through discussion, didactic and hands on participation.

- Develop new skills in identifying potential patients who may benefit from the clinical application of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- List two potential complications associated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- Briefly describe the therapeutic basis of hyperbaric oxygen therapy-corrects tissue hypoxia, chronic hypoxemia and aids in the process of wound healing and reperfusion injury.
- Identify two contraindications to hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- Develop a comprehensive plan of care for the patient undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
